Shaan Akbar is a D2C entrepreneur and advisor who has spent much of the past decade scaling games businesses for the world's largest media companies. He led Games Publishing at NBCUniversal, where he delivered and executed a strategy to build a vertical games operation leveraging brands like Jurassic World and Fast & Furious. At Disney, he tripled the run-rate on a portfolio of digital Star Wars games to gross $100mm+ during his tenure. He now brings his D2C and brand expertise to clients, advising them on acquiring, scaling, and optimizing digital businesses. He also recently founded Tutored by Teachers, a public benefit company that delivers online tutoring powered by certified teachers. Shaan's early career has spanned strategy/planning roles at Merrill Lynch and Disney. He received a joint MBA/MA from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.
